Ugh.
I’m so tired.
It’s Wednesday.
I’m technically two days into my work week, because I was off on Monday, thanks to Labor Day.
My time punches put me at 27.5 hours for the week already.
I’m still scheduled for sixteen more hours of work.
Technically I could leave early Friday, but if I don’t have a direct supervisor for all of my new staff – that’s not happening. I offered my student lead Friday off for putting in so many hours the week previous. She deserves a three day weekend.
Did I mention that the first week of the fall semester really, really sucks?
Three words: Wisconsin Quilt Expo.
LOL – I actually wasn’t sure if I’d be human enough to go, but I took a half day today.
Sandi has sage advice.
I remember being a student, and the beginning of any semester was bad enough – getting used to time tables, where lectures and tutorials were (sometimes the published timetable didn’t match the facts). If it was that bad for the students and lecturers, I can’t imagine the carnage behind the scenes for the people that actually make the place tick.
It’s ugly, really ugly.
Thankfully, I’ve hired enough staff that the next four semesters should be fairly painless, as far as training goes.
